IM A LITTLE WORRIED

Yeah....
as you probably know from reading my blog i have six cats five of which were rescues the last one being Charlie(picture in the side bar) well Charlie has had some major problems after being tossed out by his previous owners when they got tired of him instead of just asking someone if they could take him in i suppose they didnt want to inconvenience themselves..... so no home no food no warmth or shelter in freezing cold weather and believe me the winter we decided to take him was freezing. We took him in paid the vets bills were told he was border line hyperthyroid so they got him feeling better, but lately he's losing weight again so we got him checked out and yep you all guessed it he needs his teeth out now this is going to be the third one in as many months i have to say the other three are doing great so i dont dissagree with the vets descision but im just worried that he's too poorly to get through it. He has had some sickness the past couple of days but i think the need for his dental is great so we take him in tomorrow he'll be there overnight i always worry about my fur babies when they are away from home(god i sound like a worried mother) in some ways i feel like one haha but him being so poorly makes me worry even more i really hope he'll be ok after all he's been through in his little life and he's only 8 or 9 now not quite sure exactly. things could of been so different for Charlie if they had taken the time to rehome him properly but then we probably wouldnt have had the chance to care for him and im glad we have he's such a loving cat and i pray he'll be ok tomorrow. please if you see a stray animal you could possibly help but think would perhaps be too much trouble or someone else can do it please think again. I hope i can give you all some good news tomorrow and tuesday and be able to stop worrying

  1. Hi Rachel,
I'm sorry to hear that also Charlie will lose his teeth! But even though he has been ill these past few days, he has had the chanche at your home to build some reserves. And they are such tough little creatures! If his illness is caused by his teeth, an infection or something, the source of his illness will be taken out and he will feel a lot better just moments after surgery. But I know how it feels like to leave your cat at the vet! And after his car accident and teeth removal because of that, my Misha was faster ready to go outside again, then I was. I had to let him go, he broke the house down to be able to go outside, but I felt like a mother who's child went to school for the first time. I had blocked both ways to leave our garden, but he still managed to do a disappearing act... But I haven't seen him near the road again since!
I wish you both much luck, and I hope he will be home soon on Tuesday for you to spoil him rotten!

  2. I hope everthing goes ok. I have always had cats and love them, though i have to say that my little kitties i have right now have caused more trouble than my kids. lol My cats like to take out there frustrations by peeing on my hubbies expensive items. Ohhh no good. We have a few farel cat's in my across from us. Im pretty sure they live in my neibours shed underneath it. I feed them and they seem to be doing ok. Rescue centers here wont take them in and there too fast to catch. So i just keep feeding them, hoping that will help a bit. I hope im doing the right thing? When i saw the mamma with her two kitten last winter my heart went out to them and that's when i started feeding them. Now the kittens have grown up, it's hard to tell cats in my area though as so many go around without collars.

  4. Hi Jenn i know what you mean its hard to know what to do for the best sometimes but if they have shelter and your feeding them at least thats some way to making sure their ok. charlie was a domesticated cat who just got thrown out so was a bit lost but we have had him almost two years and i dont regret it im still angry with his previous owners though grrr.
We have Sammie who is a little on the slow side bless him he's gorgeous but sometimes forgets where the litter tray is so sometimes there are accidents haha not so funny when they happen but we cant help but love him lol...

  5. Hi Rachel,
Yes, Misha needed just a few days to fully recover (and he's about 12 years old, and also had a troubled start in life, we got him from the asylum), and now even his hair has grown back on the spot where his drip was attached. I think he even could have been better sooner, but he had side-effects of the anti-biotics. Only when he yawns, you can see that he only has tusks on one side, looks funny. Thanks for asking. I hope your Charlie will be back on his feet agin as soon as my Misha!
